It's a couple of days old, but the Mets signed Duaner Sanchez to a one year, $850,000 deal (Mets.com). He kicked ass in 2006, so hopefully he won't miss a beat after having a year off because of injuries. And then that would mean he could give the bullpen a much needed boost and then the Mets can not fall off with like a month left in the season again! Bastards!

the toronto blue jays just resigned left-hander scott downs (2007 Season: 58 IP, 2.17 ERA, 1.22 WHIP last year) to a 3 year, $10 M deal.
considering that scott schoeneweis (2006 Season: 51.2 IP, 4.88 ERA, 1.39 WHIP) was signed to a similar deal last winter, it's a great time to be a Mets fan!
